Inoke’s Vocational Talk: HFC- Fiji’s local bank

Inoke Vocation

Inoke Waqalevu tells RCSE about HFC products and services.

This week Suva East’s very own Inoke Waqalevu gave us the lowdown on his vocation as Credit Approval Manager at HFC. The Home Finance Company, or HFC, is Fiji’s only domestic bank, owned 100% by Fijians, for Fijians. For more than 50 years, HFC specialised in providing home loans to Fijians. Inoke explained how HFC has expanded its services over the past decade, and is now able to compete with the international banks in offering tailored financial services to Fiji Citizens.

HFC aims to be Fiji’s bank of choice, serving Fijians with innovative financial solutions, personalised service, and meeting all their financial needs under one roof. With offices established in Suva, Lautoka, Nadi, and Labasa, HFC is now working on reaching out to the rural and ‘unbanked.’ Inoke highlighted the company’s savings, chequing, microfinance and loan products geared specifically toward cane farmers, small and medium enterprise owners, students, seniors, cooperatives, and community based organisations. They offer competitive interest rates on all their loans, aiming to help everyday Fijians to manage their finances wisely.

In addition, HFC has broadened its scope to include a multitude of other financial services including insurance, valuation, and investment advice in addition to its business and personal banking options.

Many thanks to Inoke for sharing his expertise with the club members! We look forward to hearing from more of our new members on their vocations in the months ahead.
