The Nehru Memorial Primary School library in Suva was further boosted after a timely gift of books was presented to the school’s headteacher on Monday.

The Rotary Club of Suva East through its member Peter Rankin was able to distribute a carton of story books that were sent from Australia.

“Supporting education and literacy is one of our club’s top priorities,” Mr Rankin said.

Club member Molly Powers said the club remained committed in supporting education and literacy for many primary and secondary schools.

“The Rotary Club of Suva East manages the distribution of hundreds of primary and secondary school books sent over from Australia every year, as part of the Ranfurly Book Aid project,” Ms Powers said.

“Headteacher Mrs Singh was very grateful for the club’s gift, noting that the donation comes just in time for the start of the new school year.”
