• 12 August Community Cleanup: Colo-I-Suva Highway
We’re all set for our August community service activity: This month we’ll be cleaning up the footpaths in Colo-I-Suva Forest Park on Saturday 12 August starting at 9AM.

Please wear shoes with a good tread and bring work gloves if you have them. Our group will meet at the Forest Park entrance on Prince’s highway. If you have a car you can park at the forestry station across the street from the park or down a little at the police outpost. At the request of management, please do not park at the Raintree Lodge/Colo-I-Suva hotel.

Depending on our group size and litter levels we’ll split into groups and walk one of three routes down to the lower pool collecting rubbish as we go. At the end we’ll bring the rubbish bags up to the lower parking area. The Forestry service will remove the bags on Monday.

We expect to reach the lower pool before 12 and to have some time to spend in fellowship. Please bring a packed lunch and, if you feel like getting wet, your swimmers and the courage to jump off the rope swing. RCSE will provide a cooler of beverages.

RSVPs greatly appreciated so we can provide gloves and rubbish bags for everyone in attendance.

• 14 August New Member Erica Lee
Rotaract Suva Past President and RCSE Sponsored Rota Pacific Tour Alum Erica Lee’s application for membership in the Rotary Club of Suva East has been enthusiastically approved by our membership.

Erica attended the Rota Pacific/RYLA programme in New Zealand in 2009 through the sponsorship of the Rotary Club of Suva East. She was President of the Rotaract Club of Suva from 2012 – 2013 and led her club in its win of the Auckland Harbourside Cup – Best Rotaract Club in District 9920 (2013). She has held every Board position in the club except Secretary.

Erica’s induction will be held on the 14th of August in the Levuka Room of the Fiji Club at our regular meeting.
