Operations Officer Shabnam Hameed of the International Finance Corporation works to support the effective development and delivery of resources for the private sector on gender-based violence. In her role at IFC, she also provides women’s employment advisory services in the East Asia Pacific with a focus on fragile and conflict situations.

Prior to working for IFC, through research, advocacy and stakeholder engagement, she was instrumental in establishing domestic and family violence as a workplace issue in relevant legislation; developing, implementing and evaluating workplace responses to domestic, family and sexual violence; and provided consultancy and training services to organizations including the Commonwealth Bank Australia, Cue Clothing, Deloitte, Lendlease, Macquarie Group, Konica Minolta and Origin.

Beginning in August, the Rotary Club of Suva East will meet for lunch on the second Monday of the month and for dinner on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
