The Rotary Club of Suva East welcomed two members to the club during its last meeting for the 2020-2021 Rotary year.

Rowena Taito and Bhavna Singh were inducted by President Ashika Devi on Thursday 17th June 2021 via a zoom meeting.

President Ashika said that the club was happy to add new members before the end of her term in office. She said both women had attend a few meetings this year and had been waiting for meetings to resume for their induction.

“While we had hoped to induct you with our Rotary Lapel and before your fellow club members, we must at this difficult time do this through online means but we promise that once restrictions are lifted that we will be sure to celebrate your induction,” Ms Devi said.

Mrs Taito is a marketing professional and is currently the Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs and Marketing for Westpac in Fiji. She was a runner up for the Women in Business Manager of the Year awards in 2018 and has also represented Fiji internationally in the sport of outrigger canoeing at the World Sprints and Pacific Games.

Mrs Singh has worked as a Pharmacist at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva since 2017. She has also held supervisory roles at Saint Giles Psychiatric Hospital and Twomey Hospital. Mrs Singh is also passionate about community service and has over the past three years volunteered at the Sai Prema Foundation Free medical camps.
