While the Rotary Club of Suva East was established in 1980, we became a merged Club with the Rotary Club of Suva North in June 2021.  Collectively, our joint club has supported, funded and organized numerous projects focused in the development of health, education, water, and poverty alleviation throughout Fiji.

Some of these include:

  • Rotary Fiji Health Festival from 2004-2007 with Medical Services Pacific
  • Secondary school scholarships
  • Tertiary scholarships, travel and career development opportunities for Fiji Youth
  • Provision of textbooks to Fiji School of Medicine and Fiji School of Nursing
  • Distribution of primary and secondary library books provided by Ranfurley Book Aid in Australia to schools throughout Fiji
  • Refurbishment of the Hilton Hostel for disabled children
  • Establishment of the Rotary Pacific Water for Life Foundation– our club’s flagship programme which has built or improved more than 200 community and school water systems all over Fiji
  • Support to Interplast plastic and reconstructive surgical team who have been travelling to Fiji since 1980 to perform free surgeries to address conditions such as cleft lip and palate, scarring from burns, hand injuries and tumours.
  • Sponsored young professionals to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards in New Zealand
  • Partnered over three years with Westpac Bank in Fiji to provide food rations for families facing COVID-19-induced food insecurity.
