Monday Meeting 1PM @Fiji Club

Monday’s roundtable discussion led by Hilary Jacobs will be about the lifesaving benefits of breastfeeding as seen from a layperson’s perspective. The work done at the hospital has been lifesaving, and she will go over some of the compelling reasons to support mothers to breastfeed. She will also discuss common myths about breastfeeding and how to dispel them.

Rotary Club of Suva-East holds its regular lunch meetings in the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at the Fiji Club, 1 Selbourne Street, Suva. We host a social hour at 6:30 PM on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month at the Holiday Inn Suva. RSVPs to rotarysuvaeastfiji@gmail.com are appreciated.

Guest Speaker Ruth Harvey writes, “this is a really good explanation about the first 1000 days and is designed for nonmedical people. Note at the 6min mark, they show how breastfeeding is so important and fits in with this.

It also ties in with how Rotary’s work is important, and why assistance to the Hilton Special School makes sense.”

RCSE President Atul Raturi and Member Mela Matai delivered Lifestraws in April

Pictured are the deliveries to a school on Yanuca Island (near Beqa) where all water is sourced from rainfall and Waibau settlement outside Suva.

Our next delivery is tentatively scheduled for 6 May
